Owen T Douglass (b. 2002) is a Hampshire-based visual artist and a 2026 graduate of Southampton Solent University. His sculptural practice combines self-taught construction, DIY culture and contemporary visual language. Working primarily with building materials and industrial processes, Douglass creates ambitious large-scale projects that blur the boundaries between sculpture, design and craftsmanship. His practice was shaped following the death of his father in 2021, when he began constructing a workshop in his mother’s back garden. Built over three years, the shed became both his studio and the foundation of his artistic practice, exploring making as a process of resilience, memory and transformation.

Douglass’s work frequently draws on internet culture, collective nostalgia and the aesthetics of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Before graduating, he had already gained widespread international recognition, with his large-scale reinterpretation of the iconic Windows XP “Bliss” landscape receiving extensive media coverage across Europe and Asia. Through an inventive, hands-on approach to making, Douglass transforms familiar digital imagery into monumental physical works that explore memory, craftsmanship and our emotional relationship with technology.
